Artist Statement
Freedom defines both my life and my art. As a self-taught abstract artist based in Newport, Rhode Island, I embrace the fluidity of experimentation, allowing colors, textures, and movement to guide my process. Inspired by the ever-changing beauty of the ocean, breathtaking sunsets, and expressive skies, my work captures the emotions and energy found in nature.
I primarily work with acrylics but also love the unpredictable flow of watercolor. My process is intuitive, often led by bold strokes, layered textures, and an exploration of different tools and materials. I find inspiration in the groundbreaking brushwork and color of Van Gogh and the Impressionists' masterful use of light in nature.
In addition to painting, I am also an aspiring photographer, capturing the beauty of Newport’s landscapes—especially its vibrant sunsets.
For years, I created in private, but I am now embracing the freedom to share my work with the world. My goal is to connect with those who feel the same pull toward color, movement, and nature’s vast beauty. Whether through galleries, local art fairs, or my online shop, I hope my art resonates with others and brings them a sense of joy and inspiration.
